Biography
ENGLISH: The roots of the Abada family begin in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. There was always an important Jewish community in this country, since the biblical exodus to Babel. In the end of the 19th century, all the Middle East was part of the Ottoman Empire. Then Yehezkel Abada, his wife and 7 children, (all boys), immigrate to Egypt, thru Lebanon and Palestine. The family lived in Tanta, a city in the Nile delta, north of Cairo. In 1917, Moussa Abada, the third son, married with Freha Mekayess, and had 9 children. Later on the family moved to Cairo. Moussa, like most of his brothers, worked with textile, and had a small shop in “Haret el Yahoud”, that’s the antique Jewish quarter in Cairo. He died in 1946. Ils s’etablirent a Tanta, ville dans le delta Egyptien au nord du Cairo. En 1917, Moussa Abada , 3eme garcon, se maria avec Freha Mekayess, et eurent 9 enfants. Plus tard la famille demenagea au Cairo. Moussa, comme la plupart de ses freres, travaillait dans le textile et avait un petit magasin a “Haret El Yahoud”, c’est l’antique quartier juif du Cairo.,… Il mourut au Cairo , en 1946.
